St. Mary & St. Joseph – Levittown, PA + The idea of establishing a church community started in June 2019 when Bishop Karas instructed the community to locate families living in the eastern border of Pennsylvania. This involved visiting families at their homes and gathering in various locations such as parks. + The first liturgy as a community took place on August 25, 2019, in a rented hall in Morrisville, PA. Bishop Karas presided over the liturgy and ordained four deacons. + Dates of Renting Places for Prayer: + The current church was purchased on July 7, 2020, after facing challenges in securing financial approval. It was a former Presbyterian church that required reconstruction to convert it into an Orthodox church, including the addition of three altars, a deacon area, and a baptism room, as well as painting.
