Nativity Church – Ephrata, PA (Church Comunity)

+ The idea of establishing a church community in Ephrata began in December 2019 when Mr. George Salib read an announcement in a local newspaper about Zion’s Reformed Church UCC willing to donate their church building due to a low number of church members. Mr. Salib reached out to Mr. Nazih Ibrahim, and they eventually visited the church.

+ The first liturgy as a community was held on Saturday, September 12, 2020, during the celebration of the New Coptic Year, 1737 for the holy martyrs, at Nativity Coptic Orthodox Church in Ephrata, PA.

+ The community did not rent any place for prayer; instead, they acquired the church building from Zion’s Reformed Church UCC.

+ The current church building was established in 1853 and owned by Zion’s Reformed Church UCC. It was then acquired by Nativity Coptic Orthodox Church for their use.

+ The church was inaugurated on Saturday, September 12, 2020, during the celebration of the New Coptic Year, with prayers led by H.G. Bishop Karas.
