St. Mary – Washington DC

+ The idea of establishing the Saint Mary Coptic Orthodox Church of Washington DC began when many Coptic Christians in Virginia, Maryland, and the Washington DC area requested from H.G. Bishop Karas to have Father Domadious Sarabamoun’s service moved to the Washington DC Metropolitan area.

+ The first liturgy took place on the feast of St. Mary the Theotokos, on Paope 21st, 1737 M. (Saturday, October 31st, 2020 A.D.).

+ The primary location selected for the church was 5910 Goldsboro Bethesda, Maryland, where the community rented a church.

+ Father Domadious Sarabamoun has been serving as the priest since the establishment of the church.

+ The church currently rents a location at 5910 Goldsboro Bethesda, Maryland.
Cornerstone and Consecration:

+ The long-term goal of the church is to move forward from the rented location into a permanent location owned by the church.
